George Chakiris, who won an Academy Award for his role in “West Side Story,” celebrated the 60th anniversary of the movie by unveiling a design for a new plaque honoring the more than 100 Oscar winners who have handprints and footprints in the TCL Chinese Theatre forecourt.
Chakiris, who won an Oscar for Best Supporting Actor, unveiled a prototype design for the large-size plaque during a ceremony on Wednesday, April 21. The plaque will eventually be on permanent display.
