Los Angeles Mayor Eric Garcetti announced that the city will offer more than 70,000 vaccine doses to Angelenos this week – including approximately 50,000 first doses and 20,000 second doses – at seven permanent and eight mobile vaccination sites.
“Each Angeleno vaccinated moves us closer to reopening our businesses, getting kids back in the classroom and returning to the embrace of family and friends,” Garcetti said.
This week, the city was expected to receive an allotment of approximately 50,000 doses of the Moderna vaccine, 20,000 doses of the Pfizer vaccine and 2,000 doses from Johnson & Johnson. The majority of the vaccine supply will be administered at Dodger Stadium and vaccination sites at San Fernando Park, Hansen Dam, Crenshaw Christian Center, Lincoln Park, Pierce College and USC University Park. In addition to the permanent sites, the city continues to deliver vaccines through pilot initiatives for homebound and homeless individuals, as well as mobile vaccination teams that provide vaccinations in underserved neighborhods.
Even as supplies remain limited, city-run sites administered more than 73,000 doses throughout Los Angeles last week.
