Wallis Annenberg Center for the Performing Arts announced that it will be hosting the world premier live streamed musical, “Hershey Felder, Puccini,” starting next month.
The musical, which was written by Felder and produced by Hershey Felder Presents – Live From Florence, will be available starting Sunday, March 14, at 4 p.m. and available through Sunday, March 21.
“Hershey Felder, Puccini,” which features guests Nathan Gunn, Gianna Corbisiero and Charles Castronovo, tells the story of a young musician in love with the world of opera, and in particular Giacomo Puccini’s “La boheme, Tosca,” and “Madama Butterfly.” Through a series of unusual circumstances, the young musician meets the musical master himself, and secrets are revealed that send the young man soaring.
The musical was filmed and performed on location in Lucca, Italy, in the very home where Puccini was born. The production is directed for the screen by Stefano de Caril.
“We are pleased to continue our long running and highly successful collaboration with Hershey Felder with the world premiere of this fascinating story, filled with beautiful music, about the life and times of one of opera’s greatest composers,” The Wallis’ Artistic Director Paul Crewes said.
Tickets are $55 per household for viewing on Smart TV, computer, smartphone or tablet. Patrons will receive their links on March 12.
