Re ‘Lieu to lead impeachment trial’ and ‘Schiff makes statement on insurrection at U.S. Capitol,” Jan. 14 issue
I eagerly read the columns you published about U.S. Rep. Adam Schiff (D-Burbank) and Donald Trump, and the efforts underway to remove him from office.
Years ago, I met a young U.S. Rep. Adam Schiff when I attended a panel discussion at the National Council of Jewish Women. I still remember Schiff’s big smile when, after a highly informative panel discussion, I marched up to the table and told him how impressed I was and that I would certainly vote for him – if I lived in his district. Over the years, I have observed his continuing contributions to our community and our country (In the near future, I look forward to voting for him in a presidential election).
About that same time, I met Donald Trump. It was at a local hotel where he spoke to a large gathering of people about his plans for establishing Trump University. He sought investors. After his speech, I went to the stage and, along with a few others, engaged him in conversation. As I walked away, I thought to myself, this is a man with whom I would never want to be involved in any investment. I was convinced that he was a great con artist. Time has proven my first impressions to be true.
While Adam Schiff has continually shown his dedication to our country, including the effort to impeach President Trump, Donald Trump has demonstrated his overwhelming, never-ending aspiration to gain power and personal wealth. His ego knows no bounds.
As the story by reporter Cameron Kiszla stated, Trump is a “dangerous and delusional president” and should be removed from office.
In Schiff and Trump, we have two intelligent men, both very capable – but what a difference.
