Los Angeles Fire Department authorities are investigating the cause of two small brush fires that erupted shortly before midnight on Dec. 5 in the Cahuenga Pass. The LAFD received a 911 call at 11:29 p.m. about the fires, which burned a half-acre of hillside near the Hollywood Cross, a landmark located above the Ford Theatres. Firefighters extinguished the blazes at 12:22 a.m. and remained at the scene to prevent flare-ups. No injuries were reported and no structures damaged.
