The Beverly Hills Unified School District’s facilities department has reported that the Venoco Oil Well abandonment project at Beverly Hills High School is currently in closeout.
All 19 wells have been abandoned without incident at the site, according to BHUSD.
“We anticipate that the closeout portion of the project will be completed over the next few weeks and that site restoration will begin shortly thereafter,” BHUSD spokesperson Rebecca Starkins said.
In addition, the legacy oil wells associated with the Metropolitan Transportation Authority’s activities at the site have been successfully abandoned and are in closeout according to the district.
