Join Metro for an installment of its Community Conversations series on Thursday, Dec. 3, from noon to 1 p.m.
The online meetings hosted by community leaders focus on histories, art, activism and cultural assets in specific neighborhoods. The upcoming program is titled “Advocacy and Empowerment in Koreatown.”
Special guests Alexandra Suh, executive director of the Koreatown Immigrant Workers Alliance, and Steve Cho, an organizer with KIWA, will discuss how their work has evolved since the 1990s to meet the needs of immigrants, workers and tenants in Koreatown. They will also explain how their vision for public transportation is linked with an economically just future for the neighborhood.
Participation is free. To RSVP or join the meeting, visit zoom.us/j/4329547902?pwd=enRqd1pUL3AzbzFQRVZmcmJ2ek9zUT09#success. For those without computer access, call (877)853-5247.
