Seven additional sexual assault counts were filed on Oct. 28 against adult film actor Ron Jeremy involving alleged crimes that date back to 1996 and involve six women, the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office announced.
Jeremy, 67, whose legal name is Ron Jeremy Hyatt, already faced multiple sexual assault charges and remains in custody. The district attorney’s office last week added three counts of forcible rape, two counts of forcible oral copulation and one count each of sexual battery by restraint and assault with intent to commit forcible digital penetration. In total, Jeremy of 11 counts of forcible rape, eight counts of sexual battery by restraint, six counts of forcible oral copulation, five counts of forcible penetration by a foreign object and one count each of sodomy, assault with intent to commit rape, assault with intent to commit forcible digital penetration, penetration by a foreign object on an unconscious or sleeping victim, and lewd conduct with a 15-year-old girl. The alleged crimes occurred from 1996 to 2020 and involve 23 victims.
The defendant pleaded not guilty to the new charges and is scheduled to return to Department 50 of the Foltz Criminal Justice Center on Dec. 14 to schedule a preliminary hearing.
Deputy District Attorneys Paul Thompson and Marlene Martinez are prosecuting the case. The new charges span a 17-year period and the victims range in age from 17 to 38. In October 1996, a 19-year-old woman was allegedly raped by the defendant during a photo shoot in the San Fernando Valley. In October 2000, a 26-year-old woman was allegedly raped by Jeremy at a party in a nightclub. Between 2002 and 2003, he also is accused of sexually assaulting a young woman at a strip club in the city of Industry.
Additionally, a 17-year-old girl was allegedly raped by the defendant at a home in Woodland Hills in 2008. Two years later, a woman went to the defendant’s home where she was allegedly sexually assaulted. One other sexual assault allegedly occurred at a West Hollywood bar frequented by the defendant.
Jeremy faces a maximum sentence of more than 330 years to life in state prison. The case remains under investigation by the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department, the Los Angeles Police Department and the District Attorney Office’s Bureau of Investigation.
