Local photographer Mike Pingel has released a new picture book of neighborhood flowers based on his quarantine walks in West Hollywood. The book, “Flowers of West Hollywood: From My 2020 Quarantine Walks” is available on Amazon. 

The book is full of images of flowers that Pingel, a resident of West Hollywood, took during his daily walks from the beginning of the pandemic in March through July 2020. For many years, Pingel has enjoyed logging in his daily 10,000 steps and he has continued to stay active throughout the pandemic.

On one of these walks, Pingel said he noticed that the flowers seemed to be happy.

“I hope you enjoy the beautiful flowers that have brought so much joy to me and the people of West Hollywood,” Pingel said.

The 102-page, soft-back book has nearly 100 full color images of the flowers that Pingel encountered during his walks.

In addition to his new book, Pingel has also authored “Betty White Rules the World,” “Angelic Heaven: A Fan’s Guide to Charlie’s Angels” and other books.
