This Halloween season, the Natural History Museum of Los Angeles County will present two spooky festivities.
On Saturday, Oct. 24, NHMLAC will host the first ever Haunted Museum at Home. Discover the science of slime with goopy games, sticky scientific demonstrations and creepy presentations. The virtual event will be held over Zoom, and will feature a pumpkin carving demonstration with a paleontologist, a live Spider Q&A, a dive into the deep, dark and bizarre world of fish with the curator of ichthyology, and more. Haunted Museum at Home is presented in partnership with Nickelodeon, which will be matching the donation of 100 participants.
The seasonal Spider Pavilion will be open to the public for limited days and hours from Oct. 25 through Nov. 29, with previews for members and invited community partners beginning Oct. 22. The Spider Pavilion features several hundred orbweaver spiders in an outdoor enclosure filled with plants, natural light and spacious pathways that allow visitors to safely connect with nature in the heart of L.A. Advanced tickets are required for entry.
