The future of our schools is important, and the quality of life for all who live in our city is paramount and precious. To that end, I am delighted to recommend Mary Wells as a candidate for the Beverly Hills Board of Education.
In these challenging times we need an elected official who is bright, articulate, detail-oriented, fiscally responsible and committed to serving the educational needs of all students. Mary Wells exemplifies these qualifications and possesses the character that defines the standards of excellence that we as a community and school district have set.
Mary’s experience, commitment and results are reflected through her dedication to academic excellence, safety and security, fiscal accountability and technology. She has successful experience in construction management. She knows how to read architectural plans, [and] understands budgets, finances and fiscal responsibility. In addition, since 2016, she has served as a member of the BHUSD Citizens’ Bond Oversight Committee supervising school development construction projects funded by bond Measures E and BH.
Mary is an independent thinker who also knows how to build consensus in a respectful and professional manner. She is not afraid to ask tough questions, evaluate the data and find worthy decisions keeping our students and excellence in education as her top priority.
As a former mayor and school board president, I understand the challenges our elected officials face and the fiduciary responsibilities bestowed upon them. It is with great confidence that I can say, if elected, Mary Wells will affect positive change in her governance of our beloved school district. I humbly request that you consider her for one of your votes for Beverly Hills Board of Education.
