The Los Angeles Department of Transportation is encouraging residents who want speed humps in their neighborhoods to apply online.
Speed humps help slow traffic on residential streets. Completing a speed hump request involves multiple steps of engagement and technical review. The LADOT prioritizes requests based on technical feasibility and need, and due to the department’s limited budget, a limited number of speed humps will be available citywide.
The LADOT’s Speed Hump Program opens a new review cycle every six months allowing the public to submit petitions for speed humps. The next application period opens on Wednesday, Sept. 16, at 8 a.m., and will close when 450 applications (30 from each council district) have been submitted.
