Prospective students can join Immaculate Heart for a sneak peek of its online classes as registration is now open for a variety of virtual programs including student shadow visits, information meets, panel presentations and a virtual campus tour.
This year, both Immaculate Heart High School and Immaculate Heart Middle School have moved traditional admissions events online to ensure health safety. However, prospective students can still experience campus life through virtual classroom visits. Those interested can also sign up for virtual information sessions for more about the Immaculate Heart experience.
Those interested can visit immaculateheart.org/campusmap for a convenient online campus tour. Students and their families can explore the Immaculate Heart campus, including its garden setting, school facilities and classrooms. Clicking on designated map locations will reveal galleries of photos and snapshots of student life.
Immaculate Heart Middle School has opened registration for online Shadow Visits from Oct. 1 through November. Incoming sixth-, seventh- and eighth-grade students who are interested in entering Immaculate Heart Middle School during the next school year can schedule one-hour virtual visits. Each “shadow” student will be virtually accompanied by a student council member and join three classes and meet teachers, and later participate in a Q&A session with administrators. Space is limited and reservations are required.
“Middle School Meets” will take place every other Friday morning at 10 a.m. starting on Sept. 25. The online sessions via Google Meet will give prospective students and their parents the opportunity to learn about the IHMS academic program and extracurricular offerings from administrators. Visit immaculateheart.org/shadowihms for information, and to register for both Shadow Visits and “Middle School Meets.”
Registration for Immaculate Heart High School’s Virtual Shadow Visits is now open on the IH website. Shadow Visits start Sept. 22 and will continue on designated dates through February. Via Google Meet, eighth grade shadow students will be introduced to Kelli O’Brian, IHHS associate director of admissions, and will join a live class with high school students and faculty. Afterward, shadow students will view recordings of select classes of interest so they can experience Immaculate Heart’s classroom environment. Space is limited and reservations are required.
The IHHS admissions teams will also host “Hangout with IH” virtual information sessions at 6 p.m. on Tuesdays beginning Sept. 22. During the hangouts, students and their parents can learn more about IHHS academics and extracurricular activities.
For students interested in particular subjects or offerings, there will be special panel presentations from 6 to 7 p.m. on Thursdays starting Sept. 24. On designated dates, the panels will feature different topics along with representatives from the school’s athletic and arts departments, school counselors, current students and others.
As a special treat for current seventh and eighth graders, Immaculate Heart High School will host its annual Academic Playday as a virtual half-day event on Saturday, Nov. 14. It will feature fun workshops that let participants get better acquainted with faculty members and our campus. Visit immaculateheart.org/shadowihhs for information and to register for Virtual Shadow Visits, “Hangout with IH” information sessions, the special topic presentations and Academic Playday.
Immaculate Heart will also host an open house on Saturday, Dec. 5, for Immaculate Heart Middle School, and Sunday, Dec. 6, for Immaculate Heart High School. Details about the open houses will be released soon.
