Adults 55 years old and above are invited to join two unique 10-week classes designed to tap into participants’ creativity and ultimately allow them to share their work at a virtual event presented by The Wallis.
In “Staged Stories,” which takes place from Oct. 6 through Dec. 10 on Tuesdays from 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. or from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. on Thursdays, participants will gain the skills to write stories from their lives that are important to them. In addition to connecting with others and learning how to share their stories, participants will learn creative writing skills and how to innovatively capture their lives through journaling, ultimately sharing their stories at a virtual performance presented by The Wallis.
In “Beyond Words,” which takes place on Wednesdays between Oct. 7 through Dec. 9 from 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. or from 2:30 to 4:30 p.m., participants will use various forms of artistic expression to tell stories. Mediums explored include: creative writing, photography, music and collage.
No prior artistic experience is necessary. Enrollment is limited. No classes during Thanksgiving week. Registration fee is $75.
