The Los Angeles Zoo remains closed indefinitely under orders issued on July 14. The zoo had previously hoped to open in July but was unable due to increases in new cases of COVID-19, positivity rates and hospitalizations. The zoo will remain closed until the city of Los Angeles authorizes a safe reopening. In the meantime, administrators will continue to plan a modified reopening and care for the animals. For updates and to sign up for the zoo’s newsletter, visit lazoo.org.
