In an effort to provide more opportunities for long-term housing, the West Hollywood City Council will decide on a proposed amendment that would require an initial one-year lease term for rented housing units in the city, including apartments, duplexes and accessory dwelling units. The matter will be heard by the City Council on July 20.
If the measure is adopted by the council, after a one-year lease, residential units may be rented month-to-month or for other terms set. Additionally, the council will consider changes for rental units in commercial districts.
