The Beverly Hills United for Bosse and Gold PAC that was active in the 2020 city council election wiggled through a very small loophole in the election ordinance of the city. [That] ordinance MUST be amended as soon as possible.

Since the two candidates who benefitted from this PAC have said that they were not involved in the planning or development, there remain several unanswered questions.

I call upon the Beverly Press to investigate the following questions. I note that our two locally owned newspapers have refused to do just that.

What was the goal in the development of this PAC? Why was it necessary to spend SO MUCH MONEY on flyers and advertisements? Who was behind the development and the planning of this PAC? In which way did the supporters of the PAC stand to benefit from their large “contributions.”

I have asked Mayor Lester Friedman several times to appoint a small, impartial committee to do such an investigation. Indeed, his silence in this matter is truly worth its weight in GOLD.
