Today, the Groundlings Theatre & School is offering a writing workshop shop, “Writing for TV/Film,” hosted by Groundlings alumni Ben Falcone and special guest Steve Mallory from 6-8 p.m.
Falcone wrote feature films “Tammy, Life of the Party” and “Thunderforce,” and co-wrote “The Boss” and “Looney Tunes Show” with Mallory. The class will provide an opportunity for anyone working on a screenplay or anyone seeking to develop their sketch idea skills.
Attendees will be able to spend some time with Falcone and Mallory, and ask questions on their craft. The class is limited to the first 250 people and costs $50 to register online at groundlings.com.
Proceeds from the class will go toward funding and supporting the Groundlings Theatre & School.
Additionally, Angelenos in need of a laugh and an escape from reality had the opportunity to watch the Groundlings Theatre & School’s “The Crazy Uncle Joe Show,” a long-form improv show that begins with audience suggestions that are then woven into stories, with actors traveling back forth through time, playing different characters in various situations on May 27.
While the Groundlings Theatre & School’s campus, located at 7307 Melrose Ave., is currently closed due to the COVID-crisis, staff continue to host online workshops space for actors, comedians and artists.
