Former Los Angeles City Councilman Tom LaBonge recently took this photograph at the Vermont Avenue entrance to Griffith Park, where someone placed a bandana on the Smokey Bear sign warning visitors about fire safety. LaBonge, a longtime advocate of Griffith Park who frequently hikes there, said it was a good reminder for people to adhere to recommendations for wearing masks and face coverings as a safety measure during the COVID-19 health emergency.
