The Petersen Automotive Museum has announced it will continue compiling digital vehicle submissions every two weeks for its virtual Global Cars & Coffee events.
The deadline to submit a is May 7, and the premiere of the Global Cars & Coffee video is scheduled to air on the museum’s YouTube on May 10.
On April 26, the Petersen live streamed its first digital Global Cars & Coffee and featured 140 vehicles from car enthusiasts in France, Germany, Australia, England, Canada, United Arab Emirates, South America and across the U.S. The compilation video garnered more than 10,000 views in the first 24 hours, with more than 2,000 hours watched and over 1,000 live views.
“The overwhelming response to the Petersen Automotive Museum’s Global Cars & Coffee shows the passion of car enthusiasts worldwide,” Petersen Executive Director Terry L. Karges said. “This shared passion unites the global car community. We are proud to continue serving as a platform for entertainment, education and the love of the automobile during these times of uncertainty.”
Enthusiasts can participate by following three steps. First, car owners must record a short 20- to 30-second horizontal video of the car using a phone.
Second, upload the video to Dropbox, Google Drive or YouTube, and fill out a form with the car owners information, car story and video link.
All submissions will receive a YouTube link 24 hours prior to the Global Cars & Coffee live stream. During the event, the Petersen will open a poll so viewers can vote on the People’s Choice Award.
After the poll and a brief celebration, the museum will announce the Petersen Perfection Award and Best in Show. All awards will be shipped to their owners following the event.
