The Grammy Museum announced its next round of new and never-before-released free digital content while the museum in Los Angeles is closed until further notice in light of COVID-19.
Public programs is a digital series that features new intimate sit-down interviews with artists and musicians recorded via Zoom, as well as archival programs form its 200-seat Clive Davis Theater.
Public programs are released every Monday, Wednesday and Saturday. Artists Trey Anastasio, Kevin Cronin from REO Speedwagon and Web Wilder kicked-off the first round of programs this week.
Musicians participating in May’s programs include Claudia Brant with Cheche Alara and Moogie Canazio, Jim Lauderdale, Melanie Martinez, Jordan Davis, Dave Stewart with Thomas Lindsey, Shinedown, Bush, Brandy Clark, JP Saxe and the Zombies.
Since the museum opened 12 years ago, it has offered more than 900 public programs. Additionally, Grammy Museum will be releasing new exhibit slideshows that feature items from past exhibitions every Friday.
The first digital exhibit this month “Beyond Black – The Style of Amy Winehouse” was released May 1. “Ravi Shankar: A Life in Music” will be released on May 8, and future exhibitions include “Deep Heart: Roots, Rock & the Music of Carlos Vives,” “Leonard Bernstein at 100,” and “Marty Stuart’s Way Out West: A Country Music Odyssey.”
Additionally, educators and families can access digital content and lesson plans as part of the Grammy Museum’s The Schools Mini-Lessons through its Knowledge Bank, which continues its mission of paying tribute to musical heritage.
