Guests hungry for a change of scenery and delicious food are in for a treat on Saturday, May 16, from noon to 8 p.m., with Caruso opening The Grove’s Main Street to vehicles for the first time in the property’s history.
For the past 18 years, a trolley has been the only vehicle to drive along The Grove’s streets. On May 16, from noon to 8 p.m., Rosewood Miramar Beach will bring its Miramar To-Go food truck to The Grove for a throwback drive-in experience.
Cruise along The Grove’s Main Street and enjoy lights and music while you make your way to the Miramar food truck, which will be open for drive-thru service only. Executive Chef Massimo Falsini’s menu of resort favorites includes Hank’s famous Double Diamond Burger, tacos, fried chicken sandwiches and salads, and ice cream sandwiches for dessert. Sparkling water will be available in flavors such as Sicilian lemon and Bulgarian elderflower, provided by Caruso’s official water partner, Icelandic Glacial. Children’s meals include a special memento from Rosewood Miramar Beach.
“This pandemic has touched all of us in a profound and significant way and we will forever be changed,” said Rick Caruso, Founder and CEO of Caruso and owner of Rosewood Miramar Beach and The Grove. “However, we must never forget to find comfort and joy in the embrace of community, and remind one another that the simple act of putting a smile on a face can make all the difference. On our part, we remain steadfast in our mission to bring people together in new ways and to continue to take care of those most vulnerable in our communities by giving back.”
In keeping with Caruso’s spirit of philanthropy and giving back to the community, the company will donate a meal to the Skid Row-based nonprofit Para Los Niños for every meal sold. Para Los Niños provides education and support to over 6,000 vulnerable children and families each year. The goal is to feed over 2,500 families in need.
The Miramar Food Truck has been serving the Montecito community throughout COVID-19 crisis. Launched in late March, the #MiramarOnTheMove initiative has visited several locations throughout Santa Barbara and Los Angeles counties, providing frontline workers and first responders with complimentary hot meals. To date, #MiramarOnTheMove has served over 12,000 meals to essential workers and those in need. The food truck also recently provided 600 meals to the Weingart Center, a Skid Row-based nonprofit that provides help to homeless individuals.
The Grove is located at 189 The Grove Dr. For information, visit thegrovela.com.
