Fans are mourning the death of television star Jerry Stiller, who died on May 11 of natural causes at the age of 92. Stiller is perhaps best known for his role as Frank Costanza on the series “Seinfeld,” and most recently as Arthur Spooner on “The King of Queens.” He began his career in show business in the 1950s with his wife, Anne Meara, who became Stiller’s partner in comedy. He appeared in dozens of television programs from the late 1950s onward. Stiller and Meara, who died in 2015, have a star together on the Hollywood Walk of Fame in the 7000 block of Hollywood Boulevard. Actor Ben Stiller is their son.
“I’m sad to say that my father, Jerry Stiller, passed away from natural causes,” Stiller tweeted. “He was a great dad and grandfather, and the most dedicated husband to Anne for about 62 years. He will be greatly missed. Love you Dad.”
