The 2020 ASCAP Foundation Musical Theatre Workshop is now accepting applications through Monday, March 2, for its Los Angeles and New York programs.
The workshops give participating composers and lyricists the chance to present selections from original, musical works-in-progress for professional critique. On April 6-7, the Los Angeles workshop, presented in partnership with the Universal Theatrical Group and the Wallis Annenberg Center for the Performing Arts, returns to The Wallis’s Beverly Hills campus.
The two-day Los Angeles program is composed of various sessions featuring guests from all aspects of musical theatre, including producers, directors, critics, performers and composers.
Applicants will be considered for both workshops. Dates for the New York workshop, slated for Fall 2020, will be announced in August.
Applicants may send completed submission packages to Michael A. Kerker at 7920 Sunset Blvd., Suite 300, Los Angeles, California 90046. Submissions must be received in the ASCAP office by March 2. Submissions will not be returned.
The Wallis Annenberg Center for the Performing Arts is located at 9390 N. Santa Monica Blvd., Beverly Hills. For information on how to apply, call (323)883-1000, or visit thewallis.org.
