The annual Black College Expo will be held on Saturday, Feb. 1, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the Los Angeles Convention Center.
LACCD representatives will offer information about the district and its nine colleges, including Los Angeles City College, at the event.
“We want all African American students and families to know that the nine colleges of the Los Angeles Community College District are an excellent first choice for higher education in Los Angeles,” LACCD Chancellor Francisco C. Rodriguez said. “We have tuition-free education for two years and outstanding learning facilities with unique educational opportunities and student success services available to all first-time, full-time students though our Los Angeles College Promise program. Priority registration is available to students who enroll by May 1 for the fall 2020 semester.”
The expo offers workshops and informational booths about financial aid. Representatives from historically black colleges and universities will provide information about transfers for existing college students, internships and scholarships, and special educational programs in science, engineering and math.
