With the House Judiciary Committee hearings on impeachment underway this week, the words of Mencius remind us truth and facts are always easy to remember.
“The great man does not think beforehand of his words that they may be sincere, nor of his actions that they may be resolute – he
simply speaks and does what is right.”
Mencius* 372-289 BC
*Mencius was a Chinese Confucian philosopher who has often been described as the “second Sage,” that is after only Confucius himself. Living during the Warring States period, he is said to have spent much of his life traveling around China offering counsel to different rulers.
