Metro has announced lane and turn restrictions occurring at Wilshire/La Cienega and sidewalk closures near Clifton Way/Crescent Drive in Beverly Hills as part of the Purple Line Extension subway construction project.

A four-way traffic signal has been installed at the intersection of Clifton Way/Crescent Drive and it is anticipated to begin operation by late November. Work to restore sidewalks, pedestrian ramps and landscaping on Clifton Way and Crescent Drive begins on Nov. 14, and intermittent lane closures and overnight sidewalk closures will be required for approximately two weeks. Work hours will be 7 a.m. to 4 p.m., Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 6 p.m., Saturday and Sunday.

Pile drilling is also ongoing along the north side of Wilshire Boulevard. The work will be suspended from Thanksgiving through New Year’s Day. Piling resumes in January and is anticipated to be complete by July. Wilshire Boulevard has been reduced to two lanes in each direction between Beverly and Crescent drives for the piling work.

Instruments are being installed within and around the station area to monitor ground movement, settlement and other geological impacts.

Father east near Wilshire/La Cienega, lane reductions and turn restrictions will be in place on Nov. 14-15 from 8 p.m. to 7 a.m. to support instrumentation installation. Wilshire Boulevard will be reduced to two lanes in each direction between Stanley Avenue and Hamilton Drive. Northbound and southbound La Cienega Boulevard will be reduced to one lane at the intersection with Wilshire Boulevard.

Subway station construction, material deliveries, instrumentation and concrete pouring also continues at Wilshire/La Cienega. Work will be conducted 24 hours a day within the staging yards at Wilshire/La Cienega and Wilshire/Gale. Gale Drive will be intermittently closed at Wilshire Boulevard to support construction activities in the Gale Staging Yard. Concrete and rebar deliveries will be ongoing to the Wilshire/La Cienega station box and intermittent lane reductions, turn restrictions and sidewalk closures may be in place.

Utility and tunnel investigation is also ongoing near Wilshire/Crescent Heights and Wilshire/La Jolla. The work will occur from 8 p.m. to 6 a.m. and will require single lane closures along Wilshire Boulevard between Crescent Heights and San Vicente boulevards.

Near Wilshire/Fairfax, station construction, hauling and concrete pouring continues. Intermittent lane closures may be in place to support deck panel maintenance and investigation in the Fairfax station area. Anticipated work hours are 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., and 7 p.m. to 6 a.m., Monday through Friday. Ogden Drive will be closed at Wilshire Boulevard and Orange Grove Avenue will continue to be closed between Wilshire Boulevard and Eighth Street through June 2020.

Instrumentation, environmental testing and street maintenance is ongoing along Wilshire Boulevard and side streets between Western Avenue and San Vicente Boulevard. The work supports instrumentation installation, environmental testing and street maintenance. Work hours are 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., Monday through Friday, and 7 a.m. to 11 p.m., Saturday and Sunday.

Hauling, deliveries and tunneling support is also occurring near Wilshire/La Brea and a work zone in the center of Wilshire Boulevard near Sycamore Avenue. Hauling and deliveries to and from the La Brea Staging Yards will continue as tunneling preparation progresses underneath Wilshire Boulevard. Intermittent lane closures may be necessary on Wilshire Boulevard and side streets between Highland Avenue and Detroit Street. Traffic on Sycamore Avenue may be restricted intermittently at Wilshire Boulevard to support truck staging.

From Friday, Nov. 15, through Monday, Nov. 18, eastbound Wilshire Boulevard will be reduced to a single lane at Bronson Avenue to support bus pad repairs.

Near Wilshire/Western, tunneling support and street maintenance work is ongoing. Northbound Manhattan Place will be closed intermittently just north of Wilshire Boulevard.
