Chef Shirley Chung of Ms Chi Cafe recently joined friends and “Top Chef” rivals Casey Thompson and Brooke Williamson to prepare a four-course feast at Abernethy’s at the Music Center, in support of St. Vincent Meals on Wheels.
“Food is something that brings us together in community. Here at St. Vincent Meals on Wheels, we deliver delicious, healthful food, and love and connection to our homebound friends and neighbors across Los Angeles daily,” said Veronica Dover, executive director of St. Vincent Meals on Wheels. “This event is a beautiful opportunity to come together as a community to enjoy an incredible meal, prepared by three very talented chefs, in a loving parallel to the delicious food and connection that is St. Vincent Meals on Wheels’ mission.”
Chung, Thompson and Williamson competed in Season 14 of “Top Chef” in 2016. St. Vincent Meals on Wheels, the nation’s largest privately funded senior nutrition program, prepares, delivers and serves over 2,000 meals daily to homebound seniors, individuals with disabilities, terminally ill patients and homeless adults and children.
