Attorney Michael R. Sohigian will be installed as president of the Beverly Hills Bar Association at the organization’s annual Installation and Awards Dinner at 5:30 p.m. on Sept. 26 at the Four Seasons Hotel Los Angeles at Beverly Hills.
Sohigian, along with his fellow board of governors officers, officers of the BHBA Barristers (the newer lawyers’ section of the Bar Association) and the Beverly Hills Bar Foundation (the charitable affiliate of the BHBA) will be sworn in by his father, retired Los Angeles Superior Court Judge Ronald M. Sohigian. In addition, four BHBA volunteer service awards will be presented to bar association members for their outstanding service.
Sohigian, a member of the BHBA for 11 years, is a sole practitioner with more than 25 years of experience in civil litigation in Southern California with particular emphasis in the areas of insurance coverage, employment, real estate and public licensing. He is a former member of the executive committees of the California State Bar’s Solo and Small Firm Section and the Litigation Section, for which he has co-authored the Insurance Law chapter of the Section’s “California Litigation Review” for the past six years. He is also a published author in the areas of probate litigation, insurance coverage, civil procedure and First Amendment law. Sohigian holds a J.D. from Hastings College of the Law and an A.B. from UC-Berkeley.
