Metropolitan Fashion Week will kick off its annual festivities with the Opening Night and Fashion Design Contest on Thursday, Sept. 26, at 6:30 p.m. in front of the Clock Tower at the Original Farmers Market, corner of Third and Fairfax.
Hosted by Lawrence Zarian, fashion consultant and lifestyle expert for KTLA “Morning News Live” and inspired by “Project Runway,” the event includes designers showcasing Greek mythology-inspired couture gowns or costumes. The winner of the opening night contest will participate in the Metropolitan Fashion Week Closing Gala and Fashion Awards on Saturday, Oct. 5, at Los Angeles City Hall.
This year’s fashion week supports Project Imagination. Metropolitan Fashion Week will also donate a Christmas tree and holiday kit to families in need throughout the Los Angeles area.
The Original Farmers Market is located at 6333 W. Third St.
