The TAG Gallery will be holding receptions for two upcoming exhibitions, “Looking East” and “Tumbleweed,” both on Saturday, Sept. 7, from 5 to 8 p.m.
Both exhibits will also be available to the public from Aug. 27 to Sept. 19.
“Looking East” is a solo exhibition by Los Angeles-based artist Ernie Marjoram. His works feature traditional oil paints and brushes on canvasses while using mark-making instruments like sea sponges, rags, string and rope to create texture and random forms. Marjoram’s work reflects his interest in combining traditional representational art with contemporary impressionism.
Marion Wood found her inspiration for “Tumbleweed” during the recent wildfires in Ventura County after noticing a large tumbleweed in the doorway of her studio.
Guests will have the chance to meet Marjoram at “Looking East’s” reception. Both exhibitions will also feature an artist walkthrough at 3 p.m. on Sept. 14.
