Los Angeles Animal Services has announced that 40 small dogs that were recovered from locations with unhealthy conditions are available for public adoption.
The dogs have been bathed and groomed, courtesy of Paula Kent Meehan’s The Pet Care Foundation, and were divided among LA Animal Services’ six locations citywide. Their kennel cards will be printed on color stock so interested adopters may identify them easily at the centers.
All of the dogs have been spayed or neutered, and their ages range from 4 months to 12 years old. The dogs weigh less than 20 pounds.
“We ask you to open your hearts and homes to give these lovable dogs a second chance at a better life,” said LA Animal Services General Manager Brenda Barnette. “Seeing the transformation after these dogs have been groomed shows that compassion and love can turn the direst of situations into one of hope and joy. Now it’s your turn to help make a positive difference in the lives of these incredible dogs.”
LA Animal Services could not comment on the situation involving the dogs and where they were previously located because of an ongoing investigation.
