Law enforcement agencies and community organizations will be hosting block parties and public gatherings on Tuesday, Aug. 6, during observances of National Night Out Against Crime. The annual celebration brings neighbors and community stakeholders together with law enforcement officials in a show of solidarity.

In Beverly Hills, a block party will be held in the 400 block of North Rexford Drive, in front of the library and Beverly Hills Fire Department headquarters. The event runs from 6 to 9 p.m. and includes demonstrations, displays and information by city departments, children’s activities and more. The Los Angeles Police Department is also holding community events. The Wilshire Division will participate in an annual National Night Out Against Crime celebration from 6 to 8 p.m. at Poinsettia Park, 7341 Willoughby Ave. Participants can meet officers and personnel from the LAPD, and enjoy food, safety exhibits, children’s activities, pet adoptions, giveaways and more. The LAPD’s Hollywood Division is holding a National Night Out celebration with musical entertainment and food on Aug. 6, from 5 to 9 p.m. at 1915 N. Bronson Ave. The event includes a block party on Bronson Avenue near businesses at the intersection of Franklin Avenue. Two bands will perform, including one from the local neighborhood and another featuring Hollywood Division Senior Lead Officer Brian White. A raffle will be held and the event will include booths with information about LAPD volunteer and reserves programs. Staff from the city of West Hollywood and West Hollywood Sheriff’s Station will participate in block parties and events throughout the city on Aug. 6. There will be street closures for events at a cul-de-sac at Sherbourne Drive and Ashcroft Avenue, and in the 1100 block of North Ogden Drive.
