The Beverly Hills Unified School District Board of Education approved the superintendent’s recommendation to appoint Craig Bugbee to be principal of Horace Mann School.
Bugbee, the assistant principal at Horace Mann School, will assume the position of principal on Aug. 1. Bugbee previously served as assistant principal at Beverly Vista School. Prior to that, he was assistant principal at Burbank Unified School District for three years and a curriculum specialist for eight years. A classroom teacher for over eight years, Bugbee has over 20 years of experience working in an elementary school setting.
Chris Regan will continue his position as assistant principal at Horace Mann School.
“Mr. Bugbee is extremely knowledgeable in elementary education, curriculum, and instruction,” Superintendent Michael Bregy said. “He is deeply committed to bringing Horace Mann together in this time of reconfiguration. The nature of any elementary role requires superior leadership instincts which Mr. Bugbee innately possesses when dealing with students, parents, and staff. I am confident in a very successful start to the 2019-2020 school year at Horace Mann School helmed by Mr. Bugbee.”
To complete the team, Bugbee’s position as assistant principal will be posted shortly and filled in the coming weeks.
“I am honored and humbled to be selected to lead the Horace Mann family,” Bugbee said. “I look forward to working with staff, families, the community, and most importantly, our students to build a community dedicated to bettering the world in which we live. My passion for teaching and for supporting children in reaching their fullest potential in all aspects drives me to encourage and celebrate learning. Horace Mann has an extensive history of academic excellence centered around an impressive community culture and together, we can support one another in continuing to thrive at Horace Mann.”
