The clock will roll back 60 years on Aug. 15 when Los Angeles businesses price their food, drinks, hotel rooms and services like it’s 1959 in honor of Emmy-nominated Amazon Prime Video series “The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel.”
Participating restaurants include Canter’s Deli at 419 N. Fairfax Ave., which will feature the 99-cent “Maisel” pastrami sandwich; Dominique Ansel Bakery at 189 The Grove Drive, which will offer 50-cent croissants; and Pink’s Hot Dogs at 709 N. La Brea Ave., which will sell 59-cent hot dogs. The Pink’s “Marvelous Mrs. Maisel” offering is a 9-inch, all-beef hot dog topped with mustard and sauerkraut. The eatery will also decorate its space to honor the show, including a 1959 pink Cadillac parked in front of the restaurant to help recreate 1959.
Multiple Drybar locations will offer “Mrs. Maisel”-inspired looks for $2, Blushington in West Hollywood and Los Angeles will offer $2.50 full-face makeovers, and Starring by Ted Gibson at 211 1/2 S. La Brea Ave. will offer $2.50 “Mrs. Maisel” haircuts.
The Hollywood Improv at 8162 Melrose Ave. will offer admission for $1, and the Hollywood Roosevelt Hotel at 7000 Hollywood Blvd. has one-night stays for $40.
