Metro is providing updates on Purple Line Extension project work occurring from Century City to Koreatown, where the subway line’s current terminus is located at Wilshire Boulevard and Western Avenue.

Through Wednesday, July 3, work is occurring from 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. on weekdays on Century Park West between Santa Monica and Constellation boulevards. Metro contractors are investigating subsurface conditions along the tunnel alignment for Phase 3 of the project from Century City to Westwood. The work will continue at other locations along the subway route in the Century City area through August 2019.

Metro is also holding a webinar on phases 1 and 2 of subway construction from Beverly Hills to Koreatown on Wednesday, July 10, from noon to 1 p.m. The public is invited to participate and construction updates will be provided. Sidewalk repair work and sound wall installation are ongoing in Beverly Hills around the North Canon Drive staging yard. Sidewalks on the north side of Wilshire Boulevard and east side of Canon Drive will be reduced to three feet in width through early July. Pedestrians will continue to have access to the sidewalks. Twenty-foot sound walls are also being installed through July to reduce noise at the staging yard.

At other locations in Beverly Hills, excavation continues from the construction staging yards at Wilshire/La Cienega and Wilshire/Gale. Gale Drive will be intermittently closed at Wilshire Boulevard to support excavation in the Gale Staging Yard. Hauling hours are anticipated to increase as excavation continues under Wilshire Boulevard. Near Wilshire Boulevard and Fairfax Avenue, excavation, hauling and structures work are ongoing. Ogden Drive will be intermittently closed at Wilshire Boulevard to support construction, and intermittent lane closures may be in place to support deck panel maintenance around the future Fairfax Avenue station area.

Hauling, deliveries and tunneling support also continue near Wilshire Boulevard and La Brea Avenue, and from a work zone in the middle of Wilshire Boulevard just east of Sycamore Avenue. Intermittent lane closures will be necessary along Wilshire Boulevard and side streets between Highland Avenue and Detroit Street.

Near Wilshire Boulevard and Western Avenue, excavation, concrete and street maintenance work are occurring. Northbound Manhattan Place will be closed intermittently just north of Wilshire Boulevard on weekdays and intermittent lane closures along Wilshire Boulevard may be necessary.
