Re “SB 50 opponents look to maintain strong resistance,” May 30 issue

I fully agree with my City Councilman Paul Koretz that SB 50 is wrong for L.A. It may be great for San Francisco, but not for L.A.

As Koretz states, our housing crisis is affordable housing – certainly not high-rise luxury apartment buildings. What’s more, we don’t want more high-rise, multiple-unit apartments to add to our traffic congestion, parking space deficiencies, accidents and the overloading of our infrastructure (along with resulting costs).

The ideal solution is to build affordable housing in areas that are sparsely inhabited. It may have to be outside of the city.
