Pasta lovers unite at Mr. C
Tonight, May 23, join others at the authentic Italian table for a pasta-centric culinary journey of classic and contemporary interpretations presented by some of Los Angeles’ most celebrated chefs at Mr. C Beverly Hills. Giuseppe Manco from the Restaurant at Mr. C, Gino Angelini of Angelini Restaurant Group, and Jackson Kalb of Jame Enoteca will be joined by pasta chef Maria Marini and “sfoglina” Roberta Galletti of the Michelin-starred Trattoria Amerigo 1934 in Savigno, Italy. On Tuesday, May 28, a stellar female chef lineup will be in the kitchen at Pacifique offering their unique twist on fried chicken. Chefs Danielle Sobel (Pacifique), Kuniko Yagi (Pikunico), Nyesha Arrington and Kat Turner (Highly Likely) are preparing a $45 per person special LA Times’ Food Bowl menu. Secret Food Bowl at Tesse Restaurant
The third annual Los Angeles Times Food Bowl offers an exclusive secret tasting menu at Tesse. Executive Chef/Partner Raphael Francois and Pastry Chef/Partner Sally Camacho Mueller are preparing this unique menu during May. For $75 per guest, the European-inspired shared menu includes hamachi, asparagus croque monsieur, and chicken fricasse. For those adventurous diners who can handle searing habaneros and ferocious ghost peppers, Chef de Cuisine John Lechleidner is preparing a progressive heat tasting menu. The bite-sized dishes, which incorporate five unique chili peppers, are paired with a glass of milk and sky-high views of downtown Los Angeles. This $29-per-person menu is available from May 27 to Sept. 2. Guests who want to further test their heat tolerance can add a supplemental “secret” sixth course by requesting a separate “Dragon Fire” dessert. It’s a traditional peach cobbler with Carolina Reaper, the world’s hottest chili pepper that’s known to be over 400 times hotter than a jalapeño pepper, integrated into both the crumble and ice cream.
