On May 11, guests joined singer/songwriter Hilary Roberts to celebrate her birthday and introduce the Red Songbird Foundation, which officially launched the evening of the event. The night was hosted by Terry Crews and included performances by Charlie Wilson, Jermaine Dupri and a stand-up comedy performance by Gabriel “Fluffy” Iglesias.
Guests included actors Mario Lopez and actor Jason Patric, as well as journalist Sam Rubin and musician Charlie Wilson.
The Red Songbird Foundation began its work in 2009, but is celebrating its public launch this year. Founded by Hilary Roberts, a survivor herself, the foundation aims to help survivors of trauma caused by sexual, physical and verbal abuse.
Red Songbird provides counseling, helps members enter treatment and integrates members into support groups that specifically address their primary issues. The foundation has already saved dozens of lives, and it aims to continue its work and raise awareness in efforts to save more lives.
