The Griffith Observatory reopened this week after undergoing four major projects in and around the facility to improve visitor access and safety and repair building systems.

Visitors can use telescopes, explore exhibits, see live shows in the Samuel Oschin Planetarium and enjoy views of Los Angeles and the Hollywood Sign. The observatory is offering a special “Sunset Walk & Talk” on Wednesday, May 15, from 7:35 to 8:35 p.m., and “All Space Considered Remembers Apollo 10: Apollo 50th Anniversary” celebration on Saturday, May 18, from 2 to 9:45 p.m. Numerous other events are planned throughout the May; see schedule.
The projects completed during the closure from April 22 to May 6 included construction along the roads leading to the facility and at the observatory building.
