The Loren L. Zachary Society held its 47th annual National Vocal Competition Grand Finals Concert on May 19 at the Wilshire Ebell Theatre.

The competition included 10 opera singers selected from a nationwide search performing the music of Verdi, Puccini, Mozart and other composers. Nedra Zachary (second from left), Loren L. Zachary Society president and competition director, was joined by first-place winner Piotr Buszewski (left), second place winner Hubert Zapior and third-place winner Claire de Monteil.

The Loren L. Zachary National Vocal Competition helps young opera singers advance their careers. First prize in the competition is $20,000. For information, visit zacharysociety.org.
