Guests will have a magical experience for the whole family from the minute they step into the theatre. Before the movie, guests can step onto the historic stage and appear to be flying on the magic carpet inside the Cave of Wonders. Guests will also be able to make a wish and try rubbing the magic lamp to see if wishes really do come true. Costumes from the movie will also be on display.
“The whole family is in for a magical time with our special engagement of Disney’s ‘Aladdin,’” said Ed Collins, general manager of the El Capitan Theatre.
El Capitan Theatre Guests can be among the first to see the movie this evening, May 23, at 5 p.m. as the El Capitan Theatre hosts a special opening night fan event. In addition to watching the movie early – and in 3D for this screening only – all fan event guests will receive a digital download of the film’s soundtrack, as well as reserved seat, popcorn in a souvenir bucket, and a 20-ounce bottled drink. Tickets to the fan event are $30.
Other showtimes for “Aladdin” are 8:20 p.m. May 23, and at 10 a.m., 1:20, 4:40 and 8 p.m. from May 24 to June 16, with an added 11:20 p.m. showtime on Fridays and Saturdays.
During the run of “Aladdin,” the El Capitan will offer “birthday in your seat” parties for $25 per person, which include guided tours of the costume display, reserved seats, in-seat concession service, in-seat Ghirardelli birthday sundaes and a birthday shoutout before the show. For $35 per person, the VIP seat party includes popcorn and a 20-ounce bottled drink served to guests once they’re in their seats.
For $40 per person, guests can purchase reserved seats and a meal at the Hard Rock Café. Reservations must be booked at least one business day in advance.
For the first show every Tuesday, parents and small children may enjoy the movie in a tot-friendly way: with lights dimmed, rather than out, and reduced sound levels for Tiny Tot Tuesday.
Special group rates of $10 per person for parties of 20 or more are available by calling (818)845-3110.
