The Beverly Hills Bar Association, in conjunction with the Beverly Hills Bar Foundation, will host the 65th annual Supreme Court Luncheon honoring the justices of the Supreme Court of California on Tuesday, June 4, at 11:30 a.m., at Four Seasons Hotel Los Angeles at Beverly Hills.
All of the court’s justices are slated to attend. Chief Justice Tani G. Cantil-Sakauye will make extended remarks about the current state of the judiciary. Also in attendance will be associate justices Ming W. Chin, Carol A. Corrigan, Mariano-Florentino Cuéllar, Leondra R. Kruger, Goodwin H. Liu and Joshua P. Groban.
Additionally, scholarships are being presented to five economically disadvantaged, academically qualified law students who have demonstrated a commitment to public interest efforts. The Beverly Hills Bar Association also presents awards to the winners of its annual “Rule of Law Writing Competition.” Proceeds from the event benefit the Beverly Hills Bar Foundation scholarship program.
“We are also proud to support, through the foundation’s scholarship and Rule of Law award programs, deserving law school students whose public service makes a positive impact on the community,” Beverly Hills Bar Foundation President Linda Spiegel said.
Scholarship recipients are Arelis Clemente of Loyola Law School; Ashley Denise Torres of Pepperdine University School of Law; Celeste A. Sanchez of Southwestern Law School; Adam Oriel Cohen of UCLA Law School; and Mirelle Raza of University of Southern California, Gould School of Law.
