Marconda’s Puritan Poultry, Marconda’s Meats, Huntington Meat and Sausages and Farmers Market Poultry offer carefully-sourced meat and fowl, handled and prepared by expert butchers who care about customers and where their products come from.
All of the market’s meat and poultry purveyors carry a variety of products, from whole birds to special cut roasts, dry-aged steaks, homemade sausage, chops and specialty crafted burger blends. Each merchant also carries delicious pre-marinated poultry and meat specialties such as pre-skewered kabobs and marinated Asian-style poultry thighs that can easily be cooked on the grill or in the oven for a quick and tasty home-prepared meal.
The DeRosa family of Marconda’s Meats and Marconda’s Puritan Poultry, and Jim Cascone and his staff at Huntington Meat and Sausage and Farmers Market Poultry, make customers feel like family, giving expert tips and sharing family recipes. Each establishment has a long history at the Farmers Market and an unparalleled approach to customer service.
Marconda’s Meats has been a fixture at the Market since 1941. In the early 1970s, Dave DeRosa, a family member who had worked at the shop for many years, took the reins. A few years ago, his son Lou took over day-to-day operations and runs the shop with his three sons, Cody, Tyler and Thomas, who work side-by-side with their father and grandfather. The shops specialize in sustainably-raised Piedmontese beef, all-natural Niman Ranch pork products and Mary’s Organic Chicken.

Cascone, of Huntington Meat and Sausage, runs a true old-fashioned butcher shop beloved by customers and celebrity chefs since 1986. Huntington Meat and Sausage is one of the city’s exclusive purveyors of Harris Ranch meats, and they hand-make dozens of sausages on the premises daily including Cajun, Italian, three-cheese and lamb varieties. Every special occasion, from Thanksgiving to Christmas and Hanukkah, can be enhanced by Cascone’s special cut roasts. All-natural Jidori free-range chicken is also a much-sought after featured specialty at Farmers Market Poultry.
