For the last few years, the Melrose Business Improvement District has been working to create an event for the community; a special place for folks that live in and around Melrose to gather and connect.

The MBID joined forces with the Greenway Arts Alliance to develop a fun, family-friendly event with a distinctly Melrose vibe at the Melrose Trading Post that neighbors can walk to and enjoy every weekend.
The first Melrose Mornings event will be Sunday, April 28, and then will take place every Sunday thereafter at the MTP from 9-11 a.m.
Melrose Mornings will appeal to parents and kids from toddlers to tweens. Entertainment includes kid-friendly bands and entertainers, a handmade putt-putt course, arts and crafts, face painting and more.
For the April 28 launch, live music will be provided by Tim Kubart, winner of the 2016 Grammy Award for Best Children’s Album for his independently released fifth album “Home” and the Tambourine Guy with Postmodern Jukebox. Johanna Chase will also perform as part of the Melrose Sunday Music Series.
Kids will delight in a jaw-dropping bubble show from Megan McIver, an art project station, face painting by We Adorn You and Local Flavor, a section devoted to local artisanal food providers.
Deny Weintraub, president of the board of directors of the MBID and Nick Melvoin, LAUSD board member, 4th District, will speak.
The Melrose Trading Post Food Court area is located at 7850 Melrose Ave. Attendees should enter through the Clinton Street Gate on Fairfax Avenue. Free valet parking is available.
