Meet friends at the corner of Third and Fairfax to enjoy an authentic New Orleans-style Mardi Gras celebration. Returning for its 30th year, the annual celebration features beads, music, food and fun.
With a festive backdrop of purple, green and gold décor, enjoy New Orleans’ classics such as Dixie beer, beignets, and made-from-scratch Cajun gumbo and jambalaya from The Gumbo Pot. The festivities also include performances by Eddie Baytos & The Nervis Brothers, the Mudbug Brass Band, Floyd & The FlyBoys, and Lisa Haley and The Zydekats.
The celebration starts on March 2 from noon to 1 p.m. with the Dog Bakery hosting its annual Mutti Gras Pet Parade on the Market Plaza. Prizes will be awarded to the best dressed furry king and queen of Mutti Gras. The musical performances run from noon to 8 p.m. on March 2, and from 11:30 a.m. to 7 p.m. on March 3.
On Fat Tuesday, enjoy a performance by Eddie Baytos & The Nervis Brothers from 6 to 9 p.m. on the market’s West Patio.
