The “National Geographic Photo Ark” is of the venue’s most popular exhibits in the past 10 years. It follows National Geographic photographer and fellow Joel Sartore’s ambitious project to capture portraits of every species living in the world’s zoos and wildlife sanctuaries, including mammals, reptiles, birds, fish, amphibians and insects.
The exhibit features more than 8,000 species Sartore has photographed in dozens of countries. The photographer’s goal is to inspire people to help protect animals from extinction.
The Annenberg Space for Photography is a cultural destination dedicated to exhibiting digital and print photography in an intimate environment. The space features state-of-the-art, high-definition digital technology as well as traditional prints by some of the world’s most renowned photographers and a selection from emerging photographic talents.
The venue, an initiative of the Annenberg Foundation and its trustees, is located at 2000 Avenue of the Stars. Admission is free. For information, visit annenbergphotospace.org.
