The Los Angeles Zoo has launched two new tours to give guests an inside look into animal care, conservation and life at the L.A. Zoo.

Guests can learn about nutritional needs and food preparation in the new Wild Adventures Behind the Scenes tour at the Los Angeles Zoo.

The Wild Adventures Behind the Scenes tour is a fun and informative peek into how the zoo cares for each of the 1,400 animals and 270 species who live on the grounds. Guests can learn about nutritional needs and food preparation, as well as what goes into designing a natural habitat that promotes overall well-being, conservation efforts and more.
The tour takes place on Saturday and Sunday’s at 9-10:30 a.m. and 1:30-3 p.m., and will include a visit to two different locations. The tour costs $75 per person plus zoo general admission. Tour themes include pioneering conservation, cats and dogs, meal-time rituals, evolving habitats and more.
The Wild Adventures Keys to the Zoo gives guests unprecedented access to the zoo’s conservation and animal care efforts through one of its animal care experts. The Keys to the Zoo tour take place on the second Friday of each month from 9-11 a.m. and includes a continental breakfast at the Sea Life Cliffs viewing window from 9-9:30 a.m.
During the tour, participants will visit three locations while focusing on a species or theme, including mammals, birds and animal behaviors. The tour costs $150 per person plus zoo general admission.
General admission to the Los Angeles Zoo is $21 for 13- to 61-year-olds, $18 for seniors ages 62 and older, and $16 for children ages 2 to 12. No ticket is required for children under 2. Admission for Greater Los Angeles Zoo Association members is free.
