As part of the reconfiguration of the Beverly Hills Unified School District, Superintendent Michael Bregy announced new appointments and school administration structures for the 2019-20 school year.

Hawthorne School, as a K-5, will continue with one principal, Sarah Kaber, and one assistant principal, Kevin Painter, the current assistant principal at El Rodeo School.

The new structure for Horace Mann School, a K-5, will include one principal, Juliet Fine, and two assistant principals: Chris Regan, current Beverly Vista principal, and Craig Bugbee, current Beverly Vista assistant principal.

The additional assistant principal has been assigned to support the district’s special education programs to enhance the quality and support that these specialized programs receive. Hawthorne and Horace Mann will each have a dedicated full-time counselor.

The new consolidated middle school at Beverly Vista will have one principal, Kevin Allen, the current El Rodeo principal, three assistant principals (Jeanne McCrea, current Beverly Hills High School assistant principal, for grade 6; Leonidas Tarca, current Horace Mann assistant principal, for grade 7; and Richard Waters, current Hawthorne assistant principal, for grade 8), paired with one counselor for each grade level.

Beverly Hills High School Principal Mark Mead and assistant principals Phil Wenker and Drew Stewart will remain in their current roles, with a third assistant principal position to be filled.

The new administration leadership team for 2019-20 will play an essential role in the design, planning and implementation of the new configuration while working closely together with district’s community stakeholders, including staff, parents and students.

District enrollment is approximately 4,187.
