A man and woman were charged on Oct. 2 for a gas station robbery in Hollywood during which the clerk was shot with a BB gun.

Christian Vela, 22, and Jeanette Zavala, 21, were charged with one felony count of second-degree robbery. The pair additionally was charged with one felony count of vandalism of over $400 in a separate incident at a fast-food restaurant.

On Sept. 26, at approximately 5 p.m., the defendants entered a gas station in the 600 block of North Western Avenue. Zavala allegedly stole a case of beer. The clerk followed her and took away the beer, but Vela allegedly shot the victim multiple times with a BB gun. Zavala then allegedly grabbed the beer again and the pair left.

Later the same day, the defendants allegedly got into a confrontation with employees at a restaurant in the 5400 block of Sunset Boulevard, where they damaged kitchen equipment and shot a window with a BB gun.
